AI-powered “Explain This Screen” Adds Further Personalization to Quantic’s Curriculum

In our continuous effort to enhance the student learning experience, Quantic School of Business and Technology is thrilled to unveil our latest feature that takes personalized learning to the next level: “Explain This Screen.” This innovative addition is built upon the foundation of AI Advisor, which has already made significant strides in supporting students throughout their educational journey.

Since the launch of AI Advisor last year, positive feedback and high usage rates have shown us the immense potential of integrating AI into our curriculum. Students have actively engaged with AI Advisor to clarify complex concepts and navigate their coursework. It’s been inspiring to see so many of our students leverage this tool to enrich their learning journey. And starting today, students can now use AI Advisor directly from within their lessons, getting the support they need when they need it.

What is “Explain This Screen”?

“Explain This Screen” is an AI-enabled feature designed to offer real-time, context-specific assistance within lesson screens. By clicking the “Explain This Screen” button, students can initiate an in-depth discussion about the current topic, receive guidance toward correct responses, ask questions about related concepts, explore hypothetical scenarios, and review coursework to enhance lesson understanding.

Enhanced Practice with “Review This Lesson”

As students complete their lessons, “Explain This Screen” transitions into “Review This Lesson,” enabling an interactive review session of the content they’ve just learned. This ensures that they retain what they’ve learned more effectively.

Availability

This feature is now available to all current Quantic and Valar students and alumni. However, it’s specifically designed for teaching lessons, meaning you won’t find it in exams or SMARTCASEs. Our goal is to support the student learning process without impacting assessment integrity.

Your Feedback Matters

The introduction of “Explain This Screen” signifies our commitment to leveraging technology for education, providing students with innovative tools to deepen their understanding and explore new study methods. As always, your feedback is invaluable to us. We encourage you to use the Feedback button to share your thoughts and suggestions on this new feature.

We hope “Explain This Screen” becomes an integral part of your learning toolkit, enhancing your Quantic journey by making it more interactive, supportive, and tailored to your needs.

Happy learning!

Quantic Approved for Full, Five-year Accreditation Renewal; Plans to Pursue More Degrees

February 27, 2024

Quantic School of Business & Technology (“Quantic”), first accredited as a degree-granting institution in the United States in 2020, has received approval for full renewal of its accreditation. Quantic’s accrediting body, the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), reviewed findings from a site visit with Quantic leadership in 2023 and voted to renew Quantic for 5 years, the maximum allowed renewal term. Valar Institute, a division of Quantic, was also renewed as part of this institutional review.

Quantic’s CEO, Bill Fisher, commented:

“We appreciate the rigor with which DEAC reviewed our online MBA and Executive MBA degrees. We take this renewal as another signal that our investments into program innovation and quality are paying off and further demonstrate our commitment to delivering unmatched value and outcomes for our exceptional students.”

Quantic plans to pursue additional approvals in 2024 for selective and affordable online master’s degrees in Business Analytics (MSBA) and Software Engineering (MSSE), as well as an online bachelor’s degree program aimed to launch by 2026. Fisher continued: “With industry-leading student satisfaction and graduation rates, Quantic is well-positioned to broaden access to elite-quality higher education in business, technology, and data-oriented fields.”

About Quantic & Valar

Co-founded by former Rosetta Stone CEO and EY Entrepreneur of the Year, Tom Adams, Quantic is an edtech powerhouse reimagining elite graduate education through selective, mobile-first, and radically affordable online degrees built for the modern workforce. In 2022, Quantic and its edtech parent company, Pedago, received $15 million in VC funding from Elephant Ventures, a firm started by a former Warby Parker co-founder. In 2024 Quantic was recognized as one of Inc.’s Fastest Growing Companies (Mid-Atlantic Region). Quantic’s momentum continues to climb with over 15,000 global students and alumni and a reputation as a premier online educator challenging top graduate schools.

Valar Institute is a fully accredited division of Quantic launched in 2022 and is dedicated to empowering managers to lead in a new world of work. Valar’s online EMBA and MBA programs use the same award-winning interactive learning methodology and peer-based cohorts as Quantic but are shorter in duration and emphasize leadership and management skills.

Quantic Unveils New AI-Powered Student Advisor

It’s our mission to advance the state of the art in online instruction, and we see AI as an incredible enabler of improved outcomes and democratized access to high quality education. That’s why we’re excited to announce the beta launch of AI Advisor, an advanced chatbot powered by OpenAI, built to support our students and alumni on their lifelong learning journey.

Quantic has always believed in leveraging technology to move education forward. We’ve been a pioneer in the field of active learning and were the first to take a mobile-first approach to higher education.

Access AI Advisor by clicking on the BETA robot icon in the dashboard.

AI Advisor serves as a personalized guide to every student at Quantic. It can act as a tutor, answering questions about curriculum and coursework, and even help students practice for exams. It can equally provide on-demand administrative support relating to requirements, policies, and the student schedule. And when the bot doesn’t have an answer, our team of faculty, academic advisors, administrators, and support staff are ready and waiting to help!

Our product and engineering teams have spent months designing, iterating, and testing the AI Advisor experience. It’s early days; we’re initially launching on desktop with mobile soon to follow. We plan to significantly extend the bot’s capabilities, and we are excited to pursue other ways of utilizing AI to enhance the student experience.

Read on to learn more about AI Advisor!

How can AI Advisor help?

Can’t remember where you learned a particular concept? Need a quick definition? AI Advisor will not only provide you with information, but it will also point you toward lessons or FAQ articles where you can learn more. You can also ask the bot to provide practice questions for a particular topic, explain a formula, check in on your progress toward graduation, or ask questions about what’s next in your curriculum.

What if AI Advisor makes a mistake?

Our team regularly monitors the performance of AI Advisor, annotating and categorizing bot output for finer-grained analysis of accuracy. We leverage techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation to ground the AI model on relevant sources of knowledge to reduce hallucinations and better ensure relevant answers to Quantic-specific queries. We’ve performed extensive internal and external testing, including formal evaluation by faculty and staff.

Still, mistakes happen! We have created tools to allow us to identify issues and improve the accuracy of AI Advisor in response to both user feedback and internal monitoring. We encourage our students to suggest new features, as well as use the thumbs up and down buttons to let us know how helpful they find AI Advisor’s answers.

How does AI fit into the vision for Quantic’s future?

In higher ed, much of the conversation about AI centers around cheating prevention or lesson plan generation. We, on the other hand, are excited to embrace this new technology as a way enrich the student experience. We founded Quantic with a vision of education that’s of the highest quality, precisely tailored to the needs of every individual, and delivered in an accessible, flexible format. With this launch, and as we continue to innovate in AI and other emerging technologies, we’re excited to be taking another step towards realizing this future.

Quantic MBA Review: Admissions

The admissions process for the Quantic MBA and Quantic Executive MBA is designed to identify motivated and accomplished professionals who are eager to advance their careers. The process consists of three key stages: an online application, an admissions interview, and completion of foundational courses, which are optional; however, progress in these courses is noted as part of an applicant’s overall application. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you understand what to expect.

Step 1: Online Application

The first step is completing a short online application, which gathers information about your academic background, professional experience, and motivations for pursuing the program. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree.
  • Have at least two years of professional work experience.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English.

As part of the application, candidates are required to answer five thought-provoking questions:

  1. Why are you pursuing an MBA at this point in your career and why Quantic?
  2. How do you plan to use the MBA skills to advance your career?
  3. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement and why?
  4. If you could ask anyone for professional advice, who would it be, what would you ask them and why?
  5. Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?

These questions provide an opportunity to showcase your goals, accomplishments, and unique perspective.

Step 2: Admission Interview

Applicants who successfully pass the initial application phase are invited to an admission interview. This conversation allows candidates to expand on their motivations, share their strengths, and explain what they hope to contribute to the Quantic community. It’s also an excellent chance to demonstrate your communication skills and enthusiasm for the program.

Step 3: Foundational Courses

When candidates sign up to start their application, they also gain access to Quantic’s learning dashboard, where they can explore a selection of around 40 foundational business courses. Applicants are encouraged to complete several, if not all, of these courses. In doing so, they become eligible for any potential scholarships that might apply to them, and their progress in these courses is also factored into their admission decision. This step ensures that candidates are prepared for the rigorous curriculum and are familiar with Quantic’s unique interactive learning platform.

By following this structured admissions process, Quantic identifies high-potential and motivated professionals ready to make the most of its innovative MBA program.

What is the Best Online MBA Program? Quantic Review Insights

What is the Best Online MBA Program? This is a question many aspiring professionals ask as they seek flexible, high-quality education that fits their busy schedules. In today’s fast-paced world, online education has revolutionized the way people learn, making it more accessible and convenient than ever before. According to a report by Statista, the global e-learning market is projected to reach $400 billion by 2026, highlighting the growing popularity of online programs.

But despite this massive growth, many traditional education providers and edtech “innovators” have struggled to truly innovate. For students seeking advanced degrees like an MBA, this gap often results in programs that are inflexible, impersonal, and prohibitively expensive. This is where modern, forward-thinking programs like the Quantic MBA come into play—offering a refreshing solution to the status quo.

In this article, we’ll explore what makes a great online MBA program and why Quantic stands out in key areas like flexibility, engagement, affordability, and outcomes. Let’s dive in!

What is the Best Online MBA Program: Flexibility

In a world where professionals juggle demanding jobs, personal commitments, and career aspirations, flexibility has become a cornerstone of effective online education. Traditional MBA programs often require strict schedules and in-person attendance, which can be limiting for those who need adaptable options. Online MBA programs aim to resolve this, but not all succeed in offering the level of flexibility modern learners require.

Why Flexibility Matters for Today’s Professionals

Flexibility in an online MBA program is more than just being able to study from anywhere; it’s about learning at your own pace, balancing work-life responsibilities, and accessing course materials seamlessly. However, many online programs fail to provide a truly flexible experience. Issues such as pre-scheduled live classes, rigid deadlines, or outdated platforms can hinder the learning process.

How Quantic Delivers Flexibility for Modern Learners

Quantic School of Business and Technology takes flexibility to a whole new level with its mobile-first platform. Designed for busy, on-the-go professionals, the Quantic MBA adapts to your lifestyle by offering:

  • Asynchronous Learning: Access course materials anytime, anywhere.
  • Bite-Sized Lessons: Learn in short, engaging modules that fit into your daily schedule.
  • Mobile Accessibility: Study entirely from your smartphone or tablet without compromising the quality of your education.

By removing unnecessary barriers, Quantic empowers students to focus on their education without sacrificing their professional or personal commitments. It’s this dedication to flexibility that sets Quantic apart, making it one of the best online MBA programs available today.

What is the Best Online MBA Program: Engagement

When it comes to online education, engagement is one of the most critical factors for success. Many online MBA programs struggle to keep students actively involved, often relying on passive learning methods like pre-recorded lectures or lengthy readings. This lack of interaction can lead to disengagement and lower retention rates. Effective engagement, however, ensures students stay motivated, absorb material effectively, and apply what they learn in real-world scenarios.

Why Engagement is Key to Online MBA Success

Engagement in online education goes beyond participation; it’s about creating a dynamic, interactive environment that fosters critical thinking and collaboration. Unfortunately, many online programs fail to replicate the classroom experience in virtual settings. Poorly designed courses, limited peer interaction, and lack of instructor feedback are common issues that negatively impact engagement.

How Quantic Drives Engagement with Active Learning

The Quantic MBA stands out for its innovative Active Learning Method, which transforms how students interact with course materials. Here’s how Quantic drives engagement:

  • Interactive Modules: Quantic’s mobile-first platform offers bite-sized lessons with interactive quizzes and case studies, helping students stay engaged and retain knowledge.
  • Collaborative Learning: Students participate in discussions, group projects, and peer-to-peer feedback, fostering a sense of community.
  • Real-Time Feedback: Quantic’s platform provides immediate insights, allowing students to track their progress and identify areas for improvement.

By combining technology and pedagogy, Quantic creates an engaging learning environment that motivates students to excel. This unique approach not only enhances the learning experience but also prepares students to tackle real-world business challenges.

What is the Best Online MBA Program: Personalization

In today’s digital world, personalization has become essential in online education. Modern learners expect programs that understand their unique needs, learning pace, and career goals. Unfortunately, many online MBA programs fall short, offering one-size-fits-all curriculums that fail to address individual preferences. This lack of customization can hinder students’ progress, leaving them disconnected from the learning experience.

Why Personalization Makes a Difference in Online Education

Personalization enables students to focus on their strengths while addressing specific areas for improvement. It fosters a tailored learning experience that maximizes efficiency and outcomes. However, traditional programs often lack the tools to provide this level of customization, relying instead on static content and limited interaction.

How Quantic Personalizes Learning with AI-Powered Tools

Quantic School of Business and Technology excels in personalization through its AI-powered platform and innovative learning tools. These features ensure that every student’s experience is tailored to their unique goals and progress:

  • AI Advisor: Acting as a personal tutor, the AI Advisor helps clarify complex concepts, provides practice questions, and even assists with administrative queries, offering unparalleled support throughout the learning journey.
  • Explain This Screen: This real-time feature provides context-specific assistance during lessons, allowing students to explore deeper insights, receive instant feedback, and retain material more effectively.
  • Mastery-Based Progression: Lessons are designed to challenge students with frequent interactions and immediate feedback, ensuring they master each concept before moving forward.

By combining artificial intelligence with active learning, Quantic offers a personalized, responsive, and effective learning experience that adapts to the needs of its students.

What is the Best Online MBA Program: Affordability

For many aspiring MBA students, affordability is a crucial factor when selecting a program. Online MBA programs, while often more affordable than traditional in-person options, can still be expensive, costing an average of $16,000-$26,110 annually. These costs can leave students burdened with significant debt, making it essential to find a program that balances quality and affordability.

Why Affordability is Critical for MBA Accessibility

Affordability ensures that high-quality education is accessible to a diverse group of professionals, regardless of their financial background. However, many institutions rely on outdated tuition models that don’t meet the needs of modern learners. For working professionals, affordability is not just about cost—it’s about value. A program must balance reasonable tuition fees with a rigorous curriculum that delivers strong career outcomes.

How Quantic Offers Affordable, High-Quality MBA Programs

The Quantic School of Business and Technology has redefined affordability in higher education with its innovative tuition model. Here’s what sets Quantic apart:

  • Radically Affordable Tuition: At just $950 per month for the 15-month MBA or Executive MBA, Quantic’s program is a fraction of the cost of traditional programs while maintaining exceptional quality.
  • Employer Funding: Many students benefit from employer reimbursement programs, enabling them to complete their degrees without financial strain.
  • Scholarships: Quantic offers scholarships that further reduce tuition costs for eligible students.

By combining affordability with a high-caliber curriculum, Quantic ensures that students receive exceptional value for their investment. This approach makes Quantic one of the best online MBA programs for professionals seeking top-tier education without the prohibitive costs.

What is the Best Online MBA Program: Connections

In the world of online education, the power of connections cannot be overstated. Networking is a vital aspect of any MBA program, enabling students to build relationships, collaborate on projects, and gain career opportunities. Unfortunately, many online MBA programs fail to foster meaningful connections due to a lack of interactive features or networking opportunities, leaving students feeling isolated.

Why Connections are Essential for MBA Professionals

For MBA students, connections go beyond casual networking—they are gateways to mentorship, global collaboration, and career advancement. However, many programs struggle to offer the depth of connection found in traditional in-person MBAs. Limited access to alumni, lack of peer-to-peer interaction, and the absence of community-focused events are common pitfalls. Effective online programs must bridge these gaps by creating vibrant networks that mimic the value of in-person interactions.

How Quantic Builds a Global Network of Business Leaders

Quantic School of Business and Technology takes a transformative approach to networking by fostering a highly interactive and globally connected community:

By combining technology with a human-centered approach, Quantic offers its students unparalleled opportunities to form meaningful connections, making it one of the best online MBA programs for networking and collaboration.

What is the Best Online MBA Program: Outcomes

When choosing an online MBA program, its ability to demonstrate proven efficacy and deliver tangible results is what distinguishes it as the best option. While a program may excel in flexibility, affordability, and engagement, it ultimately falls short without measurable outcomes like career growth, skill development, and real-world business acumen. Proven efficacy ensures that a program’s claims are backed by validated results, instilling confidence in ambitious professionals regarding their investment.

Why Proven Results Matter in Choosing an Online MBA

Outcomes serve as the ultimate measure of an MBA program’s credibility and value. A program with a consistent track record of success fosters career advancement, enhances skills, and opens leadership opportunities. Proven efficacy aligns the curriculum with industry demands, equipping students with essential tools to tackle real-world business challenges. Conversely, programs lacking this alignment risk leaving students unprepared to compete in today’s fast-paced job market.

By choosing a program with proven efficacy and results, students ensure they are making an investment that delivers on its promises and sets them up for sustained professional success.

The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping industries, leading to an unprecedented demand for skilled professionals. Their unique perspectives can foster innovation, prevent algorithmic biases, and drive inclusive technological advancements. As organizations increasingly embrace AI, women in business analytics have an opportunity to lead transformative change.

From Capstone to Real-World Impact: How Quantic Students Helped FLIT Secure Funding and Scale Internationally

For startups, securing funding and expanding into international markets are major milestones, but achieving them demands strategic planning, in-depth market analysis, and data-driven decision-making. That’s exactly what three Quantic MBA students set out to accomplish in their Capstone strategy project for FLIT, a UK-based startup revolutionizing the folding electric bike industry.

Operations Manager at FLIT, Angus Wyllie, Medicinal Chemist Shaun O’Hare, and Senior Associate of Project Management and Strategy at ShopeePay, Ian Phillip, took on the challenge of crafting a comprehensive international expansion strategy. What started as an academic project quickly became a real-world growth blueprint, directly influencing FLIT’s approach to scaling in Europe. And in a moment of perfect timing, just as the team submitted their final project, FLIT secured £1.2 million in funding from institutional investors, validating their strategic recommendations in the best way possible.

Applying Strategy to Real-World Growth

With demand for FLIT’s folding e-bikes outpacing supply, the company needed a strategic approach for international expansion. Angus saw an opportunity to apply his Quantic coursework to a tangible business challenge. Alongside his peers, Shaun and Ian, the team leveraged their MBA learnings to develop a market entry strategy focused on e-bike leasing partnerships.

“Quantic’s Strategy module was invaluable in shaping our approach,” says Angus. “We quickly identified e-bike leasing in Germany as the optimal target and used Quantic’s frameworks to rigorously test our hypothesis. Applying these insights helped us refine our proposals and ensure all critical factors were carefully considered.”

The team’s comprehensive expansion plan included:

  • A €229,700 budget allocation for strategic initiatives
  • Market indicators such as e-bike adoption rates, regulatory ease, and pricing trends
  • A roadmap for securing German leasing partners
  • Supply chain and production scaling recommendations

By utilizing Quantic’s strategy frameworks as hypothesis testers, the team de-risked FLIT’s expansion plan and their final Capstone project and recommendation was included as part of the due diligence process for the round of funding.

“The funding was raised primarily to perfect the manufacturing process,” explains Alex Murray, FLIT Co-Founder and Managing Director. “Part of that process paying off in the long run includes scaling with larger manufacturing partners and selling in bigger markets, both of which were supported by the work of these MBA students.”

Lessons in Collaboration: Bridging Time Zones and Industries

With team members spread across different industries and time zones, collaboration was essential. The trio aligned efforts through strategic calls, ensuring their work was structured, adaptable, and actionable.

One key takeaway? Early and clear delegation. Life events, including career transitions, bereavement, and surgery, meant the team had to remain flexible while maintaining momentum on their project.

“We coordinated across three time zones through video calls, collaborating closely with FLIT’s founders to identify key challenges where we could apply our MBA insights,” explains Angus. “The biggest lesson we learned was ensuring work was allocated and agreed upon early. Planning was paramount for the success of the project.”

Beyond the Capstone itself, the experience underscored the power of Quantic’s network, enabling students to connect across industries and apply diverse perspectives to real-world challenges.

“The ability to network within the cohort has already been beneficial in exchanging ideas and meeting new people,” says Angus. “Reaching out to alumni on LinkedIn for advice on time management during the course was especially helpful.”

By working across disciplines and geographies, the team leveraged Quantic’s collaborative model to refine their strategic thinking and produce actionable insights, proving that when diverse perspectives come together, innovation flourishes.

From Capstone to Career: A Lasting Impact

Beyond helping FLIT refine its expansion strategy, this project left a lasting impact on the team’s professional development. For Angus, the experience translated directly into his career progression, as he advanced from Operations Engineer to Operations Manager at FLIT in a short span of time.

“Angus quickly transitioned from execution to strategy,” says FLIT Co-Founder and Managing Director, Alex Murray. “His role evolved into one that requires independent decision-making and leadership. He’s driven key initiatives from investment targeting and due diligence to optimizing workshop operations. Now coordinating our facility move, Angus has successfully transitioned from a technical mechanical engineer to a well-rounded generalist, with his Quantic education enhancing his impact.”

For Shaun and Ian, the project reinforced their passion for high-growth startups and strategic problem-solving, proving that joining a scaling company can be just as rewarding as launching one.

Their biggest takeaway? The power of a generalist mindset. By applying cross-functional business thinking, they developed a structured approach to tackling complex challenges, an invaluable skill for future business leaders.

Looking Ahead: The Power of Applied Learning at Quantic

This Capstone project exemplifies how Quantic’s MBA program equips students with the tools, insights, network, and confidence to drive meaningful impact before they even graduate. By leveraging their Quantic coursework, network, and cross-industry collaboration skills, Angus, Shaun, and Ian played a pivotal role in shaping FLIT’s expansion strategy.Current 2023 CONEBI data shows a value of roughly £400 million for the folding e bike market in Europe + UK, then the projections from CONEBI and Mckinsey the ebike market is expected to roughly triple by 2030. Assuming the folding bike market share stays consistent that would imply a £1.2billion market, and at current exchange rates that would be $1.5billion. Global market data has been inconsistent and unreliable over the last 10 years. So, this is just the beginning of FLIT’s growth story, one that was steered, in part, by the strategic insights of three Quantic MBA students.

Quantic Review: Executive MBA vs MBA – What is Right for You

The decision to pursue an MBA or Executive MBA (EMBA) is a significant career investment. With so many options, how do you choose the program that best fits your goals and career stage? In this Quantic review, we’ll explore key differences, benefits, and outcomes of the MBA and Executive MBA programs. This guide will help you decide which path is right for you.

Quantic School of Business and Technology offers accredited, mobile-first, and AI-powered MBA programs tailored to meet the needs of ambitious professionals at different career stages. Whether you’re an early-career professional looking to build foundational business skills or a senior executive ready to advance to the C-suite, Quantic has redefined what modern business education can achieve. Let’s dive into the specifics to help you make an informed decision.

Understanding the Differences: MBA vs Executive MBA

When comparing the MBA and Executive MBA, it’s essential to understand their purpose, candidate profile, and learning experience. This Quantic review section breaks down the distinctions to clarify which program suits your career goals.

Who Should Choose the MBA?

  • Candidate Profile: The MBA is ideal for early-career professionals or recent graduates with some work experience.
  • Focus: It provides foundational business knowledge, including finance, marketing, and operations.
  • Career Goals: Perfect for those looking to transition into business roles, gain leadership skills, or explore specializations.

Quantic’s MBA program is designed for high-potential individuals, with a curriculum tailored to accelerate early-career growth.

Who Should Choose the Executive MBA?

  • Candidate Profile: The EMBA is tailored for experienced professionals with managerial or leadership experience.
  • Focus: Advanced topics such as corporate strategy, leadership, and entrepreneurship are emphasized.
  • Career Goals: Best for those aiming for senior leadership, industry transitions, or entrepreneurial ventures.

Quantic’s Executive MBA is built for working professionals, offering flexible, mobile-first learning that integrates seamlessly into your busy schedule.

Cost and ROI: Evaluating the Financial Investment

The financial investment and potential return on investment (ROI) are critical factors to consider when selecting between an MBA and an Executive MBA. In this Quantic review section, we evaluate the costs and benefits of each program to help you make an informed decision.

Part-Time MBA vs. Full-Time MBA

Part-Time MBA: Part-time MBA programs allow students to continue working while studying, making them a popular choice for professionals. The average annual cost of a part-time MBA is approximately $16,000 per year. However, these programs typically span 3-4 years, leading to cumulative costs that can range between $50,000 and $70,000. Balancing work and study can be demanding, and the extended duration may delay career advancements.

Full-Time MBA: Full-time MBA programs average $46,700 annually, with most two-year programs costing upwards of $90,000 in total. Additionally, full-time students often forfeit income during their studies, leading to significant opportunity costs. While these programs provide immersive experiences and networking opportunities, the financial and time investments are substantial.

In-Person MBA vs. Online MBA

In-Person MBA: Traditional in-person MBA programs frequently cost $100,000 or more, factoring in tuition, relocation, and living expenses. These programs offer face-to-face networking and on-campus experiences but require students to take time off work or relocate, which can add to the financial burden.

Online MBA: Online MBA programs are generally more cost-effective, with part-time options averaging $16,000 annually and full-time programs costing approximately $26,110 per year. However, it’s important to note that these are averages — top-tier online programs can register well over $100,000 in total tuition. Online options allow students to study remotely and often provide flexibility for working professionals. However, the quality of engagement and networking opportunities can vary significantly across programs.

Part-Time Executive MBA vs. Full-Time Executive MBA

Part-Time Executive MBA: Part-time Executive MBA programs, designed for mid-career professionals, allow students to continue working while studying. These programs typically cost between $60,000 and $120,000 and span 18-24 months. While they reduce opportunity costs by enabling students to earn a salary, juggling demanding schedules can be a challenge.

Full-Time Executive MBA: Full-time Executive MBA programs are more intensive and can cost over $130,000 in tuition alone. Top-ranked programs like Wharton’s Executive MBA run over $200,000. These programs often require students to take a career break, leading to significant opportunity costs in addition to the high tuition fees.

The Best of All Worlds: Quantic MBA and Executive MBA

Quantic’s MBA and Executive MBA programs redefine quality, affordability, and accessibility in business education. With tuition priced at $950 per month over 15 months, Quantic’s programs total $14,250, making them significantly more affordable than traditional MBA or Executive MBA options. Many students benefit from employer reimbursement or scholarships, further reducing costs.

Quantic’s mobile-first, AI-powered learning platform delivers a high-quality, interactive education that is both flexible and engaging. Students can balance work and study seamlessly while gaining access to a global network through virtual and in-person events. Quantic’s programs are tailored to provide career advancement opportunities without the financial strain of traditional programs.

Admissions and Program Structure: Key Insights

When choosing between an MBA and an Executive MBA, it’s important to understand their admissions processes and structures. In this Quantic review section, we’ll explain the requirements and formats of each program in detail.

Admissions: Who Qualifies?

MBA Programs: The MBA program benefits early-career professionals with 2-7 years of work experience. Traditional MBA programs emphasize GMAT scores and academic credentials. Quantic’s MBA evaluates candidates on similar credentials (GMAT not required), but also factors in their leadership potential, and unique backgrounds. Quantic’s MBA especially suits high achievers from top universities and diverse industries.

Executive MBA Programs: Tailored for mid-career professionals with 8-15 years of experience and proven leadership roles. EMBA candidates are evaluated based on work experience, career achievements, and employer support. Quantic’s Executive MBA simplifies the process by prioritizing professional accomplishments over standardized tests like the GMAT.

Program Structure: Engaging and Yet Flexible?

MBA: Typically requires a full-time commitment, lasting 24 months in traditional formats. However, Quantic’s MBA is completed in just 15 months thanks to its AI-accelerated, mobile-first design. The program includes interactive coursework, group projects, and social learning opportunities, making it ideal for early-career learners seeking to level up.

EMBA: Executive MBA programs are structured for professionals balancing full-time work. Traditional EMBAs often feature weekend or evening classes over 18-24 months. Quantic’s Executive MBA is also completed in 15 months, offering working professionals the flexibility to learn on their schedules while accessing career-relevant content.

Admission Process: What to Expect

The admission process for MBA and Executive MBA programs typically follows a structured approach to identifying motivated and qualified candidates. Applicants are required to submit an application highlighting their educational background, professional experience, and career aspirations. Admissions teams often assess leadership potential, industry expertise, and academic achievements to select a diverse and dynamic cohort. Some programs may include interviews or assessments to evaluate a candidate’s fit with the program.

At Quantic, the admission process is designed to be both selective and accessible. Applicants begin by completing an online application that captures their academic history, career achievements, and goals. Selected candidates may be invited to participate in a brief interview with the Admissions team, offering an opportunity to further assess the applicant’s fit for the program.

Career Outcomes: Advancing Your Professional Goals

Career goals and outcomes are crucial for individuals considering an MBA or EMBA. These programs support professionals at various career stages. For early-career professionals, MBAs focus on foundational business skills to help them transition into senior roles or industries. Quantic’s programs are uniquely positioned to deliver exceptional career outcomes for both early-career and experienced professionals. MSBA vs MBA – The Difference Explained. Which One is Better?

Many young professionals find themselves at a loss for how to best advance their careers. After all, there are so many master’s programs out there that it’s easy to be trapped in analysis paralysis. This is especially true when you find yourself torn between a Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) vs MBA, two programs that offer distinct paths to professional growth.

How do you decide which is right for you? Both have similar merits but ultimately have different outcomes. But what are those outcomes and which should you choose?

Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to explore today. We’ll discuss the difference between the two programs, the jobs you can expect post-graduation, and how you can decide which is right for you.

But first, let’s clearly define what MBAs and MSBAs are.

What is an MBA?

An MBA gives students an overall understanding of how business works. It provides a top-down understanding of business operations while developing the skills to take on leadership roles and navigate the problems that often face businesses. Many modern MBA programs, such as Quantic’s accelerated, mobile-first MBA, are designed to equip early-career professionals with leadership skills in as little as 15 months, offering a flexible yet structured approach to learning.

What is an MSBA?

Your average MSBA program is much shorter than an MBA at around one year to complete. It is similar to the MBA in that it focuses on business operations. However, MSBA students specifically learn analytics and data management skills to use data to drive business decisions. Programs like Quantic’s AI-powered MSBA blend advanced technical skills in areas such as Machine Learning and Data Visualization with strategic business insights, preparing graduates to lead data-driven decision-making processes in their organizations.

As such, this is an excellent program if you wish to strictly pursue data analytics.

What is the Difference Between MSBA and MBA?

Although these two programs are similar, let’s take a look at the core differences between MSBA and MBA programs:

msba vs mba
  • Focus – An MBA focuses on overall business management – the ins and outs of everything the student needs to know how a business operates. The MSBA, on the other hand, focuses on how to collect and utilize data to make business decisions.
  • Time – As we’ve discussed, your typical MBA takes two years to complete whereas the MSBA takes one year. However, there are alternative programs such as Quantic’s MBA program that can bring an MBA down to roughly 15 months.
  • Soft Skills – In addition to the hard skills it takes to run a business, MBAs include soft skill development that we don’t see in MSBA programs such as problem-solving, teamwork, and general communication.
  • Options –   You have more options with MBA programs as they come in many types. You’re not limited to a single concentration or general overview. If you are more technically minded but still want a high-level understanding of business, check out an MBA program with a STEM concentration.
  • Experience Requirements – Whereas almost anyone with the right education can pursue an MSBA, MBA programs often require applicants to possess at least 2 years of industry experience.

Still confused? Don’t worry. You’re not alone. The MSBA vs MBA is a common debate on Reddit, and it’s worth checking out what people are saying about it before you make a decision that’s right for you.

Job Comparison

When it comes to jobs between the MSBA vs MBA, the primary difference you find is that MBA graduates are often positioned to take up managerial positions in a company. MSBA vs MBA jobs on the other hand primarily focus on distinct responsibilities: MBA roles lean toward management, while MSBA roles focus on analyzing data to advise leadership. However, MSBA graduates, with the right experience, can expect to advance to senior positions within a company.

Is an MSBA Better Than an MBA?

It is difficult to say which is better between MSBA and an MBA. In fact, you will find the answer depends on your unique career goals. MSBAs are focused and value data analytics over leadership. For example, Quantic’s MSBA program emphasizes cutting-edge analytics tools and AI-enhanced strategies, making it ideal for those aiming to become data specialists. An MBA, on the other hand, is more flexible by providing students with a high-level business understanding with the additional potential to specialize in areas such as operations, marketing, or finance. Programs like Quantic’s MBA also allow students to build leadership skills while maintaining career flexibility.

Who the MSBA is Better for

An MSBA is best for those who wish to focus on data and analytics. If you have a passion for data science over management, you’ll most likely prefer taking an MSBA to become a data specialist. This program is best suited for those looking to keep their head down while excelling at what they do best – data science.

Who the MBA is better for

On the other hand, if you wish to rise to be a leader in a company, you’ll want to pursue an MBA. Although MBAs offer concentrations to allow you to specialize in the management of a specific field, such as data science, they offer a more general understanding rather than strict technical skills. As such, this is the program for you if you’re looking for a flexible degree that will serve you across industries as the best degree for professional growth.

Is a Master in Business Analytics Worth It?

In short, yes. A master business analytics degree is absolutely worth it for those wishing to become data specialists. These programs provide students with an effective understanding of data utilization within a business.

If you’re looking to move beyond data science and lead teams to achieve large-scale business goals, an MBA is the way to go. Quantic offers a unique and accelerated MBA program that can help position you as a leader in any industry you choose. In fact, 94% of Quantic alumni report that they achieved their career goals after graduation, thanks to the education they received through our program. What’s even more impressive is that they did so over five times faster than other MBA students from the top 10 business schools.

With Quantic, you will develop core business skills to maximize your career success, regardless of your chosen industry. All the while, you do so in an accelerated 15-month program of study specifically designed for the early-career professional with leadership aspirations. Plus, you experience this award-winning curriculum through interactive technology and collaborative group study in a structured, yet flexible format.

How a Master’s in Business Analytics Transforms Decision-Making

The digital age has ushered in an era of knowledge abundance, fundamentally reshaping how businesses operate and create value. A Master’s in Business Analytics equips professionals with the tools to navigate this transformation, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to access and analyze vast amounts of data effectively. This shift challenges traditional notions of productivity and competitive advantage by making information and computational power more accessible than ever before.

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, highlights that humanity is undergoing a transformative shift where AI significantly amplifies access to knowledge and innovation (Altman, “The Future of AI and Humanity”). Similarly, Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, emphasizes the importance of integrating AI into all aspects of work to thrive in today’s economy. Both leaders underscore that the competitive edge for businesses lies in their ability to adapt intelligently, innovate, and align their goals with societal and ethical imperatives.

AI represents more than just a technological advancement—it signals a fundamental shift in decision-making processes and value creation.

The Future of Decision-Making: Five Transformative Trends in 2025

1. Agentic AI and Autonomous Systems

Agentic AI represents a monumental leap in decision-making, enabling systems to operate with autonomy and tackle complex challenges. These systems independently analyze data, predict outcomes, and make strategic choices. For example, augmented reality (AR) tools integrated with AI are transforming industries like real estate, where stakeholders use immersive visualizations to interpret market trends more effectively. A Master’s in Business Analytics equips professionals with the skills to navigate these advancements while addressing critical questions about accountability and ethics. Organizations must establish robust oversight frameworks to maintain transparency, ensure fairness, and preserve trust.

2. Democratizing Analytics

The democratization of analytics empowers individuals at all organizational levels to leverage data for impactful decision-making. Tools like no-code and low-code platforms break down technical barriers, enabling employees to access and act on insights without specialized expertise. For instance, a marketing manager can use these tools to evaluate campaign performance and make data-driven adjustments in real-time, reducing reliance on IT teams. However, achieving true democratization requires investments in data literacy programs and cultural shifts prioritizing data-driven thinking. Companies that successfully adopt this approach create environments where decisions are informed, agile, and inclusive.

3. Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics

Predictive and prescriptive analytics are the backbone of proactive decision-making. Predictive models analyze historical data to forecast risks, opportunities, and trends, while prescriptive analytics recommends actionable strategies to optimize outcomes. For example, logistics companies use these tools to anticipate disruptions and adjust routes, minimizing delays and improving operational efficiency. Despite their transformative potential, organizations often face challenges with fragmented data systems and the technical expertise required to integrate these models fully. Overcoming these barriers unlocks significant competitive advantages.

4. Real-Time Analytics

Real-time analytics enhances agility by providing instant insights that enable organizations to adapt to rapidly changing conditions. Retailers leverage real-time data to adjust pricing during flash sales, maximizing revenue while maintaining customer satisfaction. Similarly, hospitals use live patient data to allocate resources more effectively during emergencies. Professionals with a Master’s in Business Analytics are uniquely positioned to harness real-time data for strategic and impactful decision-making.

The integration of real-time capabilities with predictive and prescriptive models amplifies their impact, enabling businesses to respond not only quickly but strategically. However, scaling these systems requires robust infrastructure and seamless integration to ensure decisions are timely, informed, and impactful.

5. Ethical and Societal Alignment

AI-driven analytics demands more than just technical capabilities. Businesses must create systems that empower ethical decision-making, cultivate adaptability, and integrate with broader societal objectives. It’s no longer about collecting vast amounts of data but creating frameworks that ensure insights translate into meaningful action. A Master’s in Business Analytics emphasizes the ethical use of data, preparing professionals to align analytics with societal goals.

Companies must establish robust ethical guidelines to ensure fairness, accountability, and trust in their decision-making processes. This alignment not only enhances decision-making but also reshapes competitive dynamics and economic value creation.
